Old boat wrecks on the River Itchen -acrylic painting
This was a small painting I did a few weeks ago which has not been photographed properly as yet. It is done in acrylics on a board measuring 12" x 10" and was painted within a day. It shows two seemingly long forgotten boats resting on the mudflats at Northam, Southampton on the river Itchen. Both still float and I do have the feeling however that the larger one is occupied! Over the years I have painted a number of the old boats that occupy the area and it is always fascinating watching them break apart over time. They are a constantly interesting subject to paint. |
